Story
In order to attain great power, the tyrannical king Ahk-Ton of Kahndak established the crown of Sabbak in 2600 BCE. The Council of Wizards grants Shazam's abilities to a young slave boy, turning him into the valiant champion of Kahndak. He battles Ahk-ton, defeats him, and ends his reign.
Adriana Tomaz, an archaeologist and resistance fighter, is attempting to locate the Crown of Sabback with the help of her brother Karim and his allies Samir and Ishmael in the present day when Kahndak is under siege by Intergang. As Adriana receives the crown, Intergang ambushes them and kills Samir, forcing Adriana to use a spell that awakens Teth-Adam, whom she calls from sleep. K's boss agrees. Amanda Waller, a representative of the US government, perceives Adam as a threat because he kills the majority of Intergang soldiers and calls on the Justice Society to capture him. Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and the Justice Society's Atom Smasher arrive just in time to stop Adam's killing spree and reveal to Adrianna that Adam was not a secret guard but an imprisoned assassin.
Ishmael, posing as the head of Intergang's Kahndak division, kidnaps Adriana's teenage son Amon, who has taken the crown and hid it. The Justice Society, Adam, Adrianna and Crown want to trade it for Amon. When he reaches Ishmael, he reveals that he is Ahk-ton, the last surviving king, and that he wishes to be on the throne. Adrianna gives up the crown to save Amon's life, but Ishmael breaks his promise and shoots at Amon, causing Adam to lose control and use his powers to destroy the hideout, killing Ishmael and Wounded Amon. Adriana gives up the crown to save Amon's life.
