Storylines
Damage Control interrogates Peter Parker, his girlfriend Michelle "MJ" Jones-Watson, his best friend Ned Leeds, and his Aunt May Parker after Quentin Beck reveals Parker's identity as Spider-Man. Parker's charges have been dropped by his attorney, Matt Murdock, but the group has faced negative publicity. After Parker, MJ and Ned's MIT applications are rejected, Parker goes to a New York sanctuary to ask Stephen Doctor Strange for help. The strange opening spell causes everyone to fail to remember that Parker is the Bug Man, although this is compounded when Parker repeatedly demands changes to allow his friends and family to retain their memories. Eventually, Weird has to cast a spell to stop it.
Upon the idea of the Unusuals, Parker attempts to persuade the MIT supervisor to reconsider using MJ and Ned, but Otto Octavius goes after him. Octavius tears out the nanotechnology from Parker's Iron Insect suit, which attaches to his mechanical appendages and allows Parker to control them. As Norman Osborn arrives and attacks, Doctor Strange magically transports Parker back to Sanctum and secures Octavius in a phone with Brief Connors. Strange explains that those who are aware of Spider-Man's identity were summoned from other universes within the multiverse by corrupt magic. He instructs Ned, Parker and MJ to locate and capture them; They find and retrieve Max Dillon and Rock Marco at an Office of Strategic Intelligence.
